Welcome to The Ethos Project

An Introduction to The Ethos Project

The Ethos Project is a TDA-commissioned 12-month national pilot project committed to developing "Character Education" in UK schools by reference to international best practice and new models and forms of school practice-sharing.

The TDA funding for The Ethos Project came to a conclusion in December 2008, we are committed to continuing this work and you can contact us at richard@kfes.org

The resources remain available on this site and are free, you are welcome to access them.

You will however need to register by providing a name and email through the "click to register" button on the top right of the page.

The aim of the ethos project is to create powerful and transformative sustainable change by developing in participants the knowledge, skills and competencies to implement and promote school wide change through education with character.

It is a source of substantial, free, resources, training and consultant support and can be directed to a wide variety of major change programmes to suit the individual participant and the current priorities of the school: for example, it could be used to:

- revolutionise Behaviour Management in your school

- to establish SEAL-based programmes

- to introduce bold and dynamic curriculum models in line with Curriculum 2008

- to develop genuine cross-curricularity in Citizenship / PSHE / Enterprise

- to enhance the meaningful, school-wide, impact of Be Active or ECM agendas

- or other purpose to suit a school's own context

The Ethos Project is delivered by an education partnership who are established as The Ethos Consortium.
